In his "Santelli Exchange," CNBC's Rick Santelli says that while debt-to-GDP is difficult to visualize, debt per taxpayer is much easier to understand.
Using a chart from a post by F.F. Wiley on Cyniconomics, Santelli argues that based on projections from CBO data, projected government debt per taxpayer in constant 2013 dollars will hit $1.2 million in 2056.
Santelli doesn't think all the spending that's supposed to be helping the economy is working, so to him, that debt hit is like getting billed for a big, juicy cheeseburger but only receicing a little, "wimpy" burger.
