Tim Maurer

Financial planner, speaker and author Tim Maurer is director of personal finance at the BAM Alliance. A certified financial planner working with individuals, families and organizations, he educates at private events as well as via TV, radio, print and online media. Maurer is a regular CNBC contributor and writes for Forbes.com. A central theme, that personal finance is more "personal" than it is "finance," drives his writing and speaking.

Maurer graduated Towson University, where he now teaches financial planning. His second book, co-authored with Jim Stovall, is published under the title "The Ultimate Financial Plan: Balancing Your Life and Money."

A resident of Baltimore, Maurer participates in a group dedicated to aiding Nicaragua through microfinance and entrepreneurial ventures.
