You thought you were in luck with a winning lottery ticket—but think again if you're in the nation's capital.
The DC Lottery announced Friday that "no winning DC lottery tickets will be cashed until further notice," because of the government shutdown, effective Saturday.
The DC Lottery said in a statement that all winning tickets will be honored after the government reopens.

In the meantime, it said, lottery tickets remain for sale.
