It is time to fix this, says House Speaker John Boehner, commenting on news the White House knew millions of Americans would not be able to hold onto their health insurance plans when the Affordable Care Act was implemented.

Obamacare is restricting economic growth and keeping businesses from hiring, House Speaker John Boehner said Tuesday.

"It's time to delay this. It's time to fix this before it gets any worse," Boehner said at a news conference.

Boehner spoke just hours after an NBC report that raised questions about the administration's assurances on the impact of the Affordable Care Act, more commonly known as Obamacare.

NBC reported Monday that millions of people will have their existing health insurance canceled in coming weeks, a fact the administration has known for at least three years.

Boehner alluded to the news in a tweet just before his speech.
