Introducing a 'smart' way to take notes

Smartphones, smartwatches and, now, smartpens. A new device is aimed at making it easier to take handwritten notes.

Priced at $150, the Livescribe 3 Smartpen pairs with the Livescribe mobile app via Bluetooth to instantly sync everything that a user writes on paper to a mobile device.

The 3 Smartpen works only with Livescribe paper, which can be purchased separately for $9 to $25, depending on the retailer. This smartpen also works only on an iOS 7 or newer platform.

Folks who are looking to buy a smartpen other than the Livescribe 3 can also check out the Equil Jot, which doesn't require special paper.
