Midday movers: AT&T, Pfizer, Twitter & More

Take a look at some of Monday's midday movers:

AT&T and Verizon Communications fell after AT&T announced plans to cut prices on its shared data plans by 20 percent. Many on Wall Street expect Verizon to follow suit.

Pfizer climbed on news its experimental breast cancer drug succeeded in a mid-stage trial.

FireEye declined after filing a $700 million secondary offering.

Ford Motor and General Motors both declined after reporting January sales declines.

Twitter gained after RBC Capital and Wedbush expressed optimism about the company's fourth-quarter and 2014 outlook.

AOL rose after Needham raised its price target to $57 from $46 a share.

Time Warner Cable rose after Reuters cited sources familiar with the matter in reporting Charter Communications was thinking of raising its bid for the company.

Herbalife fell. Investor William Ackman charged that the supplement seller found new distributors through a business that had been convicted in Canada of operating a pyramid scheme.


Ryanair Holdings gained after the Irish airline reported strong forward bookings and an easing of intense price competition among European airlines.

Altria Group declined. The company buying electronic cigarette company Green Smoke for $110 million.

Medivation fell after Needham and Bernstein cut their ratings on the stock.

Jos. A. Bank Clothiers dropped after rejecting another offer by rival Men's Wearhouse. Jos. A. Bank said it was in talks to buy Eddie Bauer.

Valeant Pharmaceuticals International declined after it agreed to buy privately held PreCision Dermatology for $475 million in cash.
