In New York, the hipster look is growing in popularity, sometimes growing faster than a man's beard.
That's why some whisker-challenged men are paying thousands of dollars to get facial hair transplants, the New York Post reports.
"Brooklyn is probably the nucleus of the trend, it's the hipster 'look' guys want. If you have a spotty beard, and you let it grow out, it looks sloppy, " Dr. Jeffrey Epstein, a Midtown-based plastic surgeon, told the Post.
The newspaper says the surgery costs up to $8,500.
