Popular and addictive mobile game Flappy Bird will return to Apple's app store at some point, said its creator, Hanoi-based Dong Nguyen.

The game, which went viral eight months after it was released in May of last year, was taken down by Nguyen after complaints that the game was ruining people's lives, according to Gawker.

At its peak, the free game was earning Nguyen $50,000 a day from in-game advertisements, Nguyen told Rolling Stone.

Nguyen didn't say when the game would return, other than to say it would not be soon.
