US sneaker start-up pockets $1.5 million investment

Brooklyn, N.Y.-based sneaker brand, Greats, on Tuesday said it has raised $1.5 million in new capital from a group of investors, Crain's reports.

The company, which claims Kanye West as an admirer, sold out of its 2,400-pair inventory within 60 days of launching its website last August. The men's shoe brand features classic sneaker styles.

Greats is among a handful of domestic shoemakers, and sales of Greats sneakers are limited to its online portal for now.
