NBCUniversal announced Wednesday it has acquired U.S. broadcast rights with the International Olympic Committee through 2032.
"The extension of our partnership with the IOC is unprecedented in scope and is the longest US Olympic sports rights agreement in history," said Steve Burke, CEO of NBCUniversal in a press release.
The deal from 2021 to 2032 is valued at $7.65 billion, plus an additional $100 million signing bonus.
"The IOC has worked in close partnership with NBC for many decades, and we are thrilled we will continue to work with them through to 2032," said IOC President Thomas Bach.
The Olympic agreement includes TV, Internet and mobile rights. By 2032, NBCUniversal will have covered a total of 23 editions of the Olympic Games, since its first broadcast in Tokyo in 1964.
NBC had previously spent $4.38 billion on the U.S. broadcasting rights for four Olympic games until 2020.
