Chipotle price increases revealed

Getting a steak burrito bowl? That'll be 8.3 percent more in New York City. While you're at it, be prepared to fork over 11.1 percent more for guacamole.

In select markets, Chipotle Mexican Grill has already hiked prices of a range of menu items, according to an analysis of prices by RBC Capital Markets confirmed by CNBC with a Chipotle spokesperson.

This follows the company's announcement last month of planned mid-single-digit increases beginning this quarter and ending by early in the third quarter. The last companywide jump occurred around three years ago.

Driving this price rise are surging food costs, especially those of steak and cheese.

In a report out Friday, RBC Capital Markets noted that the increases have been toward the high end of this planned range so far.

"Though Chipotle's price increases are coinciding with a rapid increase in input costs, we continue to believe Chipotle's has pricing power and we would expect Chipotle's food margin to moderate over time, resulting in outsized earnings growth," RBC analysts noted.
