Prosecutors have issued subpoenas in an investigation into whether congressional staff tipped stock traders to a change in health-care policy, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Federal investigators are seeking records and other evidence from the House Ways and Means Committee and from Brian Sutter, staff director of the committee's health-care subpanel, the newspaper said.
It cited public documents made public by Rep. David Camp, R-Mich. chairman of the committee, and by Sutter himself.
Sutter's disclosure said the Justice Department issued a subpoena to compel him to testify before a federal grand jury. The newspaper said a spokesman for the committee declined to comment on behalf of Sutter.
