Poll: Would you eat fast food in China?

Food brands operating in China may have to step up their public relations campaigns following reports of new food safety scares this week.

McDonald's and Yum! Brands, parent of KFC, apologized to customers on Monday after a TV report showed workers at one of its meat suppliers, Shanghai Husi Food, a unit of U.S.-based OSI Group, picking up meat from the floor and mixing expired meat with fresh meat.

The supplier was shut down over the weekend for health violations by Chinese regulators.

Starbucks is the latest brand to be embroiled in the scandal after the coffee giant said on Tuesday that some of its franchises previously sold products with chicken from Shanghui Husi Food.
