Produce contamination scare not so peachy

Trader Joe's has pulled peaches, nectarines, plums and pluots from shelves after the California supplier said some of its products may have been contaminated with listeria, according to Time Warner Cable NY1 News.

Wawona Packing said that no illnesses have been reported and the nationwide recall is a precaution, The Associated Press reported.

Retailers that received the fruit also include Costco, according to the AP.

Listeria can cause high fever, severe headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, miscarriages and stillbirths and may be fatal in severe cases.
