Speech recognition software maker Nuance Communications fell more than 8 percent in extended-hours trading after the firm reported a bigger third-quarter loss as costs rose. The company, which makes the software that runs the Siri feature on Apple's iPhones, said net losses increased in the year-over-year period.
Rackspace dropped more than 2 percent in after-hours trading after the cloud hosting company announced record growth for the second quarter of 2014 but posted a 11.8 percent decrease in net income from the previous quarter.
Caesars Entertainment reported greater net losses in the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Shares were unchanged in extended-hours trading
Mobile advertising firm Millennial Media was down more than 9 percent in extended-hours trading after its earnings missed analyst estimates.
Sprouts Farmers Market fell nearly 4 percent in extended-hours trading after the grocery store announced it would sell 15 million shares of its common stock.
