A 78-carat diamond is missing in Namibia, and police are on the hunt.
After a recent worker's strike in the country, the Namibia Diamond Trading Company filed a police report claiming that the massive stone had been stolen, Bloomberg reported.

The report does not specify the value of the gem, which would depend on several factors, but a diamond of the same size sold for $6 million in 2011, according to Bloomberg.
Members of the Mineworkers Union of Namibia went on strike Aug. 2, demanding higher wages than the government offered, Bloomberg said.

The Namibia Diamond Trading Company assesses and sells diamonds from Namdeb—both are joint ventures between the Namibian government and De Beers.
A spokeswoman for Namdeb declined to comment to Bloomberg on the theft report, citing the ongoing investigation.
