Janus Capital Group - Shares surged on news that Bill Gross is leaving Pacific Investment Management Co., the investment firm he co-founded, and would be joining Janus Capital.
Nike - The athletic-apparel company gained after reporting first-quarter profit that beat expectations. Foot Locker, a retailer that offers Nike products, also advanced.
Micron Technology - The manufacturer of computer-memory chips climbed after posting fourth-quarter revenue that topped expectations.
