Actress Jessica Alba has taken her passion for toxic-free products and turned it into a successful business with The Honest Company. Now she's looking toward the next phase and an expansion into Asia.

Alba, best known for her roles in the films "Fantastic Four" and "Little Fockers," told CNBC she's hoping her company becomes the lifestyle brand for the next generation.

"Expanding into China and being global is another aspiration that we have that we're working on. Really being the trusted family brand for Millennials all over the world," Alba said Monday.

She's also looking into launching new verticals—"everything from the beauty category to the feeding category to feminine care."

The Honest Company recently raised another $70 million and is now valued at almost $1 billion.

Alba founded business along with Christopher Gavigan, former CEO of the non-profit group Healthy Child Healthy World, after trying to find baby products that did not contain chemicals. The company, which is a subscription model, features eco-friendly baby and household products that are toxin-free.

"People love the convenience of the subscription model," Alba said. "It's more affordable…and we love the relationship we have with our customers, having that direct relationship with them."

Alba said the international launch will be more of a curated experience, with the company testing the waters with different products. She'd like to see the merchandise around the world "sooner rather than later."

"Logistically, it's tough. Different countries have different standards and labeling. It's a different process," Alba said.

As for possibly bringing the company public in 2015, Alba said, "If it makes sense, maybe, but right now we're just focused on growing the business."
