Protesters in Hong Kong showed no signs of backing down on Tuesday, despite heavy rain showers, blocking roads and paralyzing the heart of one of Asia's most important financial centers.
Demonstrations are now into the fifth day as tens of thousands of protesters stocked up on supplies and erected barricades in signs they are preparing to stay put for the long haul. But there are fears riot police may push to clear the roads before the Chinese National Day on Wednesday.
