Midday movers: FedEx, KB Home, Waters & more

Take a look at some of Tuesday's midday movers:

Allergan - The drug developer rose after issuing a statement refuting claims by hostile suitors Pershing Square Capital Management and Valeant Pharmaceuticals that its CEO had spread misinformation about Valeant.

Apollo Education Group - The for-profit educator gained after reporting quarterly earnings above estimates.

Dish Network - The provider of satellite TV climbed after it and Turner Broadcasting, a unit of Time Warner, did not renew a distribution agreement.

Exxon Mobil - The oil producer and competitors including Chevron, ConocoPhillips and Anadarko Petroleum gained with the price of crude.

FedEx - The shipper and rival United Parcel Service climbed after UPS said it would raise U.S. rates, echoing a move by FedEx last month.

Kimberly-Clark - The maker of tissues and diapers rose after saying it would cut as many as 1,300 jobs.

Lennar - The builder and competitors such as KB Home, PulteGroup, DR Horton and Toll Brothers advanced on data showing sales of U.S. existing homes in September rose a a one-year high.

Lockheed Martin - The defense contractor fell after its third-quarter sales fell short of expectations.

Ocwen Financial - The collector of mortgage payments fell after New York's financial regulator said the company backdated foreclosure letters to borrowers.

Omeros - The drug developer dropped after saying it had suspended enrollment in a mid-stage study testing its experimental treatment for Huntingdon.

Omnicom Group - The advertising company climbed after reporting quarterly revenue and profit above estimates.

United Continental Holdings - The carrier and others including Delta Air Lines, American Airlines Group and Southwest Airlines rose amid reports major airlines had increased domestic fares.

Waters - The maker of products used in developing drugs jumped after reporting better-than-expected third-quarter earnings.
