Cisco posted better-than-expected quarterly earnings and revenue results, but the stock pared initial gains as guidance trailed estimates.
NetApp shares fell more than 3 percent after the computer storage provider handed in second-quarter earnings that beat analysts' expectations by a penny.
It also forecast adjusted third-quarter earnings that were below Wall Street expectations.
Shares of the small-cap digital ad provider Rocket Fuel soared after the company reported better-than-expected quarterly results, boosted by a 64 percent increase in Ex-TAC revenue.
The stock rose more than 13 percent after the announcement.
Shares of Cyberark Software, an Israel-based security firm, jumped more than 15 percent after the company said its third-quarter revenue rose 66 percent in comparison with a year ago, lifted by its maintenance and professional services unit.
