Midday movers: Chevron, Hess, Morgan Stanley & more

Take a look at some of Tuesday's midday movers:

Chevron - The oil producer and others including Exxon Mobil, Hess and ConocoPhilips fell with crude.

Morgan Stanley - The bank and Goldman Sachs dropped after Macquarie slashed earnings estimates for both.

Newmont Mining - The gold producer and others including Barrick Gold, Goldcorp and Yamana Gold advanced with gold.

General Electric - The provider of appliances and financial services fell after Deutsche Bank downgraded the stock to hold from buy.

Boeing - The plane maker dropped after saying it delivered 723 jetliners last year.

Priceline Group - The company and other momentum stocks including Netflix, Amazon.com and Tesla Motors declined.

United States Steel - The company dropped after saying it would idle a plant that makes pipe and tube for energy exploration.

Johnson & Johnson - The pharmaceutical company relinquished initial gains. It said it had started testing an Ebola vaccine in humans.

Gilead Sciences - The drug developer rose after saying it would buy a liver treatment being developed by Phenex Pharmaceuticals.

Alkermes - The drug developer gained after announcing positive results for its treatment of a depressive disorder.

Nielsen - The viewer-ratings service fell after CNBC said it would stop receiving its services.

CytRx - The drug developer soared after reporting positive results for its experimental brain cancer treatment.
