Bob Dylan will pull a "U2-esque" move, only on a much smaller scale.
The recording artist will be giving away 50,000 compact disc copies of his new album to AARP The Magazine readers as a way of promoting it, according to an Advertising Age report from Thursday. "If it was up to me, I'd give you the records for nothing, and you could give them to [every reader of your] magazine," Dylan told AARP The Magazine, the report said.

"Shadows in the Night" will be Dylan's 36th album and will be released Feb. 3. Consumers can also pre-order the album on Amazon.com.

U2 gave away about 500 million MP3 copies of their "Songs of Innocence" album to Apple iTunes users last September.
