Illinois's Northwestern University will be getting its largest-ever donation from a member of the Buffett family. The youngest sister of Warren Buffett, Roberta, has made a gift to be announced Wednesday, reports Crain's.
"I invite you to join me at a special event honoring the visionary Northwestern graduate whose extraordinary generosity will advance our impact on the world," wrote Northwestern President Morton Schapiro in a memo to faculty and staff on Monday.

The donation will benefit the university's global studies center and will top $75 million, the school's last largest single gift up until this point.
Roberta Buffett graduated from Northwestern in 1954 and was the roommate of Warren's first wife. She has long been a supporter of the school and in 2006 the international studies center was renamed after her.
