Google's Senior Vice President of Knowledge is retiring. Alan Eustace is a company veteran who joined Google in 2002, only four years after it launched. His departure coincides witha larger reorganization of several divisions in the company.
Other leaders have departed during the restructuring, including former-Google X Vice President Sebastian Thrun in September and Android founder Andy Rubin in October.
Eustace's tenure in the Knowledge division included oversight of the company's signature search engine and research operations. The Florida-born engineer, whose resume boasts previous roles at HP and Compaq, holds another feather in his cap—as a record-setting free fall jumper.
