A four-floor Brooklyn townhouse just hit the market for $40 million, making it the most expensive listing ever for New York City borough.
At nearly 17,500 square feet, the home has 16 bedrooms and 16 bathrooms, with other rooms across the brownstone totaling to 50. Right now, the building is divided into eight separate units.
The seller is Jeff Keil, a retired banker and former president of Republic New York. He purchased the property back in 1991 for $2.3 million, according to public records cited by The Wall Street Journal.
