Nearly 6,000 pearls just became the subject of Los Angeles County Sheriff Department investigation.

These particular pearls were used to embellish actress Lupita Nyong'o's $150,000 dress, which was allegedly stolen from the London West Hollywood hotel in California, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Nyong'o wore the white Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein gown to the Academy Awards last Sunday. Sheriff's detectives, who received a call about the theft around 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, said the value of the dress is part of the investigation and no arrests have been made yet, according to the newspaper.

Detectives who were at the hotel Thursday morning have examined the security camera footage, according to the LA Times.
