What's been the key to Walt Disney's success? Its conspicuousness, an analyst said Friday.

"What's unique about Disney among the film studios is its visibility because of their staggered and staged rollouts," Martin Pyykkonen of Rosenblatt Securities told CNBC's "Squawk on the Street." "Traditionally in the box office, you don't have a lot of visibility. It's usually very volatile and they have a multiyear visibility."

The media giant announced Thursday that it has plans to release new installments in its "Frozen" and "Star Wars" franchises. The first "Frozen" movie was the fifth-highest grossing movie of all time with more than $1.27 billion, according to data from Box Office Mojo.

Disney will also release Marvel Studios' "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" on May 1. This will be the second installment in the "Avengers" franchise. The first movie generated about $1.51 billion worldwide in ticket sales, according to Box Office Mojo.

The "Frozen" and "Star Wars" announcement led to a nearly 4 percent spike in the company's stock Thursday. Disney's shares were down about 1 percent midafternoon Friday.

Nevertheless, visibility is not the only key to the company's success, Pyykkonen added. "I think Disney has done a great job of social media marketing. They're already selling a lot of 'Avengers 2' merchandise two months before the movie even comes out," he said. "They're just clicking on all cylinders right now."
