U.S. President Barack Obama will make a nice salary this year, but it pales in comparison to the sum Singapore's leader will take in.

Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will earn a $1.7 million salary this year, more than quadruple Obama's $400,000, according to a Statista study. His haul trumps salaries paid to the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Japan and the United Kingdom combined.

Lee raked in even more money before public outcry prompted a pay cut of about one-third in 2012. He made more than $2.8 million from 2008 to 2012, according to Statista.
