Apple Watch sales continue to rise

Apple Watch pre-orders may be picking up steam across the globe, MacRumors.com reported.

Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst at KGI Securities known for his accurate predictions regarding Apple products, said in a note that pre-orders of the smartwatch may have reached 2.3 million units, according to the MacRumors report.

"We estimate production of Apple Watch around 2.3 million units in March-May. Mass production of Apple Watch began in March and will likely reach 2.3 million by end of May. Considering that most consumers who pre-ordered will not get the device until June, we estimate global pre-orders of over 2.3 million units, with Apple Watch Sport, Apple Watch and Apple Watch Edition representing a respective order allocation of 85 percent, 15 percent and less than 1 percent," Kuo said in the note, according to the report.

Kuo also said that the tech giant plans to expand Apple Watch production to a range of 2 million and 3 million units per month, MacRumors added in its report Wednesday.
