World's first 'airport resort' comes to Cebu: Report

The Department of Transportation and Communications will began construction on the world's first airport resort this week. The resort will be built in Mactan, on the Philippine island of Cebu, according to the Daily Mail.

The new terminal will be completed in February 2018. It's projected to increase passenger capacity of the Mactan-Cebu International Airport to 12.5 million a year, up from the current 4.5 million, the report said.

A promotional video for the airport claims it it "feels like a resort" and it's "not just a gateway, it's a destination." Construction of the new terminal is set to begin Tuesday.
