There were exactly 15 stocks in the Dow Jones industrial average that were higher for 2015 and 15 that were lower for the year as of Wednesday morning.

So it's basically been a coin flip for investors looking to beat the benchmark.

This sort of sums up the kind of year 2015 has been for investors so far: some winners, some losers and in the end, just breaking even.

So which Dow members will lead the way the rest of the year? Should one stick with the momentum winners such as Disney, Apple and Goldman Sachs? Or take a value position in the stocks battered by both the strong dollar and decline in oil prices such as Procter & Gamble and Chevron?
