After-hours buzz: Baidu, Knowles, Darden & more

Take a look at some of Monday's after-hours buzz:

Baidu plunged about 6 percent in extended-hours trade after forecasting revenue that fell below average analyst estimates. The Chinese search engine giant said it expects revenue of 18.17 billion yuan to 18.58 billion yuan, below the 18.79 billion yuan expectations of analysts polled by Reuters. The firm reported second-quarter earnings that beat on both the top and bottom lines.

Knowles jumped more than 5 percent in after-hours trade following an that showed an increase in gross profit from the same period last year. Still, the manufacturer of specialty components in hearing aids and other electronics posted a decline in revenue of about 17 percent from the same quarter last year.

Avalon Bay Communities edged higher in extended-hours trade after that showed year-over-year growth driven largely by gains in rental revenue.

Darden Restaurants gained about half a percent in after-hours trade amid news that Todd Burrowes will rejoin the firm as president of LongHorn Steakhouse after resigning from his position as chief operations officer at Ruby Tuesday.
