Katrin Dambrot, president of the Financial Women's Association of New York rang the closing bell at NASDAQ MarketSite Thursday in honor of the FWA's 60th year.
The FWA was formed in 1956 by eight pioneering Wall Street women who were denied admission to a men's club.
Sixty years later, the FWA is more than 1,000 members strong and has touched the lives of more than 5,000 students and young professionals with its mentoring and scholarship programs.
(In full disclosure, I am proud to say I am a member of the FWA board.)
