Aerosmith mulls 'farewell tour' in 2017: Report

Aerosmith may soon walk the way of retirement.

The legendary rock band's singer Steven Tyler told Rolling Stone this week that it will "probably" go on a "farewell tour" next year. But he left open the possibility of another album.

"Whether we do a farewell tour or go into the studio and do another record, I'm just excited about it," Tyler told the magazine.

Aerosmith has not performed since September. Tyler is currently promoting a solo country album.

Members of the band, which released its first studio album in 1973, have recently suggested they could wind down their activity. Tyler is 68 years old, while guitarist Joe Perry is 65.
