MARY THOMPSON

Mary Thompson came to CNBC in May of 2000 as a general assignment reporter. Prior to joining CNBC, she worked at Bloomberg Radio and Television for eight years. During that time, she covered the stock market from the New York Stock Exchange, anchored special coverage of Federal Reserve meetings and Bloomberg Small Business. She joined Bloomberg News in 1991, where she spent a year as a print reporter.

Thompson also worked at Fidelity Investments in Boston for four years where she held a variety of sales positions.

Thompson holds a B.A. in English from the University of Notre Dame and an M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University.
