European shares are seen ticking up on Thursday to extend their sharp gains from the previous session as acquisition talk in financials and prospects of another U.S. rate cut boost global equities.

Bookmakers see Britain's FTSE 100 up 19 to 21 points, Germany's DAX up 35 to 40 points and France's CAC up 30 to 31 points.

Investor focus will be on a set of corporate updates including that from miner Antofagasta as well as a clutch of economic data led by third-quarter U.S. core personal consumption expenditure.
