Richmond Federal Reserve Bank President Jeffrey Lacker Wednesday said policy-makers are worried about the possibility of recession, but that persistent inflation remains a worry for the central bank.

"Right now we're concerned about growth," he told students and faculty at Marshall University's Lewis College of Business.

On Tuesday, Lacker helped fuel the sharp selloff in the markets by saying that a "mild recession" remains a possibility.
