Everything old is new again. Here is a song recorded in 1929 by Frank Crumit, called "Tale of the Ticker". Eighty years later, a lot of us feel the same way.

Crumit sings about the stock market—"For a bull buys up and a bear buys down, and the broker sells you out." The chorus goes like this: "Oh the market's not so good today, your stocks look kinda sick. In fact they all dropped down a point, each time the ticker ticked."

Maybe in 80 years, they'll be playing a song by...Eminem? Celine? Springsteen?...about the hard times in '09. Except instead of being called "The Tale of the Ticker", it'll be called "The Tale of the TARP".
