Three Hots and a Cot: Madoff's New Meal Plan

Bernard Madoff pleaded guilty on Thursday to 11 counts of fraud in the biggest swindle ever and was taken to the Metropolitan Correctional Center, near the Federal courthouse.

He will be formally sentenced on June 16 and faces a maximum sentence of 150 years.

In the meantime, if you've ever wondered what they serve in prison, here's a look at what Madoff—also known as inmate No. 61727054—can expect in the corrections center.

The following is a sample menu, provided by New York's Metropolitan Correctional Center:

Breakfast

  • Banana
  • Oatmeal
  • Bread w/Margarine
  • Milk
  • Coffee

Lunch

  • Baked Chicken
  • Sweet Potato
  • Collard Greens
  • Bread with Margarine
  • Fruit
  • Beverage

Dinner

  • Spaghetti with Meat Sauce
  • Spinach
  • Bread with Margarine
  • Beverage

According to the public information officer at the Metropolitan Correctional Center, the facility tries to include heart-healthy alternatives to processed or fried foods. Each daily menu meets the new standards for “Dietary Reference Intakes."
