Pops & Drops: Burger King, Berkshire Hathaway...

Following are the day’s biggest winners and losers. Find out why shares of Burger King and Abercrombie & Fitch popped while Berkshire Hathaway B’s and Akamai dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Burger King (BKC) popped 3%. The company posted higher-than-expected quarterly profit on Thursday, helped by its $1 double cheeseburger promotion. - I think it pulls back more but I'm still bullish long term, says Steve Grasso.

Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) popped 4%. The company posted growth of 8% for January same-store sales, when analysts expected a 8.4% drop.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Berkshire Hathaway B’s (BRK.B) dropped 3%. Standard & Poor's dropped its ratings on Berkshire and its core subsidiaries from the top-level AAA to AA+ citing the acquisition of Burlington Northern. - I would be a buyer of the dip, says Karen Finerman.

Akamai (AKAM) dropped 4%. The company’s profit forecast wasn’t as strong as investors hoped it would be. - This stock is a little broken, explains Jon Najarian. I wouldn't get long until $24.

Steel Dynamics (STLD) dropped 7%. Profits at the company trailed analysts’ estimates due to lower shipments and margin compression at its metals recycling segment. - I'd be a buyer on a larger pullback, says Joe Terranova.

Massey Energy (MEE) dropped 8%. Despite announcing potential new deals with China, investors were more focused on the threat a stronger dollar poses to the price of coal. - I'd stay away near term, but take another look in about a month, says Steve Grasso.

Yum! Brands (YUM) dropped 6%. Profits topped Street expectations but shares slipped after same-store sales at international restaurants fell short of its target. - The long term story remains in tact, says Karen Finerman. I'd be a buyer.

Las Vegas Sands (LVS) dropped 7%. An off the cuff by President Obama dragged down this and other casino names. When speaking about the economy Wednesday the President said, “You don’t go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage. You don’t blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you’re trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices.” - In the space I'd be an aggressive buyer of MGM and Wynn, says Jon Najarian.

Delta Airlines (DAL) dropped 8%. JPMorgan downgraded airline stocks to neutral from overweight, saying they have “run their course.” - I'm also a seller, says Joe Terranova.
