Economic Growth Has Market in 'Sweet Spot': Kantor

The combination of low short-term interest rates and continued economic growth is a great reason to be bullish on the US markets, a top analyst told CNBC Tuesday.

“This market’s got a lot of momentum right now,” said Larry Kantor, head of research at Barclays Capital. “We’re in a very nice sweet spot of accelerating economic growth. We’re revising our forecasts everywhere for the first quarter.”

Part of the upside is already priced into the market, Kantor said, who added, “Better times are priced in, but it’s even better than we thought.”

The risks associated with the Goldman Sachs securities fraud scandal could weigh on financial institutions, Kantor said, noting, “but on the other side, they had very strong earnings.
