On May 12, 2010, Google announced a new version of its popular map. In this case, the map gives directions for bicyclists and as a bonus, it can be used with Android on handheld devices and mounted to a bicycle for easy consultation by the user. On the Google Maps navigation screen, a bicycle icon now appears next to those for buses, cars and pedestrians, and when the cyclist touches it, it produces maps of trails that are dedicated to bicycles, as well as maps of roads with and without bicycle lanes.
