3 More Trades: Gold, Fast Food & Cisco

Thursday's show was so chock full of trades we needed to write another post to bring them all to you.

GOLD TO FALL WITHOUT CHINA?

The Fast Money traders are keeping a close eye on gold after comments from China suggested they weren’t looking to buy.

According to a Reuters report, foreign-exchange regulators in China say the precious metal's market is too small, illiquid and volatile to be considered suitable for asset allocation for the nation's nearly $2.5 trillion foreign-exchange stockpile.

If China isn’t looking to gobble up gold, can it sustain current price levels?

What that report omits is the fact that China has been buying up miners, says Brian Kelly. I’d play it long GDXJ as a real estate play on mines.

ISARBY’S FOR SALE?

Investor Nelson Peltz, whose firm is a large shareholder of Wendy's/Arby's Group, said a third party expressed interest in a potential acquisition involving the fast-food company.

Its shares rose nearly 11 percent in after-hours trading.

Through his investment firm Trian Fund Management, Peltz said in a securities filing on Thursday that he is considering an "oral inquiry from a third party expressing interest on a preliminary basis."

What’s the fast food trade trade?

In the space I think the trade is long Jack-In-The Box or McDonald's, says Guy Adami.

FAST MESSAGE- YOUR QUESTION ABOUT CISCO

Richard from Hawaii

Richard writes, “What is holding Cisco down with the market up more than 200 points?

The argument for Cisco is great valuations and cash on the balance sheet, explains Guy Adami but the argument against is that the tech cycle is at a peak. I’m in the bear camp and that's putting a lid on shares right now.
