Pops & Drops: Honeywell, Abercrombie & Fitch...

Here are some moves you might have missed Tuesday — Find out why shares of Honeywell popped while Abercrombie & Fitch dropped.

POPS (stocks that jumped higher)

Honeywell (HON) popped 3%: Honeywell rallied Tuesday after receiving an upgrade from JPMorgan Chase to "overweight" from "neutral."

Gary Kaminsky, a CNBC contributing editor and former Neuberger Berman money manager, said CEO David M. Cote "really knows how to run a business."

NXP Semiconductors (NXPI) popped 3%: The Dutch chip-maker saw shares rise after reporting second-quarter operating profit swung to a profit compared to a loss during last year's quarter.

"It was a pop on earnings that basically weren't so bad," said Karen Finerman, president and co-founder of Metropolitan Capital Advisors. "It's a minor bit of good news on this one that's been an underperformer in its short history."

Weyerhaeuser (WY) popped 4%: The forest products company agreed to sell its short-line railroads to a Florida-based private company.

Guy Adami, managing director at Drakon Capital doesn't like this stock right now.

DROPS (stocks that slid lower)

Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) dropped 7%: The teen retailer had decent earnings overall, but missed on gross profit. According to the company's press release, it lost 150 basis points.

"I think there's more to go," said Patty Edwards, principal at Storehouse Partners. "You've got an inventory build. Closing stores. Holding hopes out for the international side of the business. No, thank you."

Western Digital (WDC) popped 2%: The hard drive developer saw shares drop after receiving a downgrade from JPMorgan Chase.

"The pain continues again," said Joe Terranova, chief market strategist at Vitrus Investment Partners. "You don't catch falling knives. Classic example of that."
