Imane Boudlal was expected to hold a news conference Wednesday and file a complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

Suzi Brown, a Disneyland spokeswoman, would not offer any immediate comment.

Boudlal has worked at the Storyteller restaurant at the hotel for 2 1/2 years but didn't try to wear her hijab to work until Sunday, in observation of Ramadan. Leigh Shelton, a spokeswoman for Boudlal's union, says the hostess was told she could wear it but could not be seen by customers.

Boudlal's union has been in bitter negotiations with Disneyland over a hotel workers' contract for months.
