Here's what's up on Tuesday's Squawk on the Street:

--The Case-Shiller index at 9. If you invest in the homebuilders, companies like Toll Brothers, Hovnanian, Pulte and DR Horton, you don't want to miss this. Also, if you own a house or you're thinking of buying one, watch for the number at 9am sharp, only on Squawk on the Street.

-- Plus, Google has a new plan for the world's email.

-- Gold is still shining, but what about the gold stocks? We're looking at Randgold, Barrick, Gold Fields and Newmont Mining.

-- And as hurricane Earl moves closer to the east coast we're checking out insurance stocks. Chubb, Travelers, AIG and CNA are on our watch-list.

The street poll focuses on housing. Do you think there should be a new round of stimulus to help homeowners or should the market determine where we go next? Share your opinion.

Watch the opening bell live from the New York Stock Exchange, it all starts at 9 a.m. ET, only on CNBC.
