Goldman's NY Prop Traders in Talks With KKR, Perella, BlackRock And PIMCO

Goldman Sachs Principle Strategies Unit, the prop trading unit in Goldman Sachs Equity Division, is in discussion with a few potential buyers, including Kohlberg Kravis and Roberts, Blackrock, Perella and PIMCO.

CNBC's Kate Kelly broke the news of the negotiations this morning.

The investment banks Principal Strategies Unit U.S. arm includes under fifty traders and is said to be in talks with several private firms, however, it remains unclear if the Asian and European arms are involved in the discussions, Kelly reported.

"We have reported that Morgan Zi, who runs the unit globally out of Hong Kong, may be exploring options for starting his own hedge fund and I am told those plans are unchanged, but there are talks going on," Kelly said. > Read More at CNBC.com
