Biggest Surprises This Quarter: Priceline Up 97%

US stocks posted their largest quarterly gain since Q3 2009, with the major averages rising north of 10 percent.

Among the major S&P 500 sectors, telecommunication, basic materials and consumer discretionary stocks took the lead, up 15 percent or greater for the quarter.
