Former White House budget director Peter Orszag has been hired by Citigroup, according to a Dow Jones report Thursday.
Orszag, who left the White House in July, will work as a senior banker in Citigroup's institutional securities business, the report also said.
Though he will work with clients in the private and public sector, he will not deal directly with the U.S. government.
Earlier in his career, Orszag worked as an economic adviser to the Clinton administration and director of the Congressional Budget Office.
